Gratefulness Is A sacred Exercise

If we want to grow and mature and be happy, we have to practice giving thanks, even when we don't feel like it. I learned this lesson time and time again, each time with a deeper appreciation of God's patience with me in spite of my often ignorant sense of entitlement.

Gratefulness is a sacred exercise. The devil cannot stand it when all focus is on God and a soul looks up in praise.

Scary thing is, we let go of a grateful heart and of the idea that God is wisely good when we compare ourselves with another. Envy is a powerful motivator, and the devil knows it. If he can get us to compare ourselves to another, he can derail us- at least for the moment- from God's best plan for us. That is nothing new under the Sun. If he found an opening for envy and jealousy before, he'll look for one again, when we least expect it.

Trust God with your own story. Behold the glory and be held by God. How we behold determines if we hold joy. Anchor yourself in Christ. Embrace it with a heart of thanks and faith by looking for God in every nook and cranny of life. Refuse to be petty in spite of any opportunity to do so.

With Love,
