As We Come Alive

I've met countless women who live numb, and though they don't like it much, they prefer it to that uncomfortable process of waking up.

Who wants to feel the prickled push to move from a safe but lifeless hideout? Who wants to wrap hopeful fingers around a dream that we're not even sure belongs to us?

The sting of such potential disappointment is enough incentive for long naps. Or numbness. But choosing the risk of waking up to our heart's desires is an important part of the process.

We cannot respond to Jesus' invitation to live significant lives for Him without coming alive in ways that surprise us. And as we come alive, we come undone, a feeling that's both unsettling and beautiful.

From the time we wake up to God's divine purposes, to the time we walk out those purposes in obedience in faith, we stand as works in progress, tested through trial, completed through perseverance.

With Love,
